The withdrawal of fraud and corruption charges against Lt-Gen Dumisani Khumalo and six senior Crime Intelligence officials is an embarrassment for the forces of malice. Idac arrested them over Brig Dineo Mokwele’s allegedly irregular appointment, despite evidence showing to the contrary.
The case collapsed. For surviving what became a reckless, politically charged hit job, Khumalo and his team deserve the ultimate salute.
